Protected Payments — the safest way to pay for your move

When you book through MoverQuotes, your money is held by us — not the mover — until 48 hours after the move is completed. If anything goes wrong, your funds stay protected.

The journey of your payment

  1. 1. Booking confirmed

You accept a quote. We open a managed escrow record against your booking.

  2. 2. Payment protected

You pay MoverQuotes, never the mover. Funds are held in our Stripe escrow account.

  3. 3. Move completed

The mover marks the job as complete after handing over keys.

  4. 4. 48-hour protection window

Funds remain held for 48 hours. Open a dispute in one click if anything is wrong.

  5. 5. Funds released

If no dispute is raised, payout is automatically transferred to the mover's verified Stripe account.

What "escrow" actually means

Your payment is captured by Stripe into a MoverQuotes-controlled balance. The mover sees confirmation that the job is funded, but cannot withdraw any money until we release it. That removes the most common scam patterns in the moving industry — cash on the day, deposits to personal accounts, or vanishing companies.

The 48-hour protection window

Once your mover marks the job complete, a 48-hour window opens. You can review your belongings, your invoice, and the work done. If you raise a dispute in that window, funds stay on hold and our team steps in.

Disputes are simple

Open a case from your booking page. We mediate based on what you both submit and decide one of: full refund, partial refund, full release, or a split settlement.
