How payment works

Common questions
When do I actually get paid?+
Customers pay MoverQuotes upfront when they accept your quote. The funds sit in protected escrow until you complete the move. 48 hours after completion, if no dispute is raised, the balance is released to your Stripe account automatically.
What's the commission?+
A flat 5% on completed bookings. Nothing on quotes you send, nothing on cancelled jobs, nothing on disputed moves until they're resolved in your favour.
What happens if a customer disputes the move?+
Disputes pause the escrow release while our Trust & Safety team reviews evidence from both sides. We can release in full, refund in full, or split — and we'll always explain why.
What if a customer cancels?+
Our cancellation policy splits the deposit between the customer, you, and the platform based on how close to move day it is (80/10/10 if more than 7 days out, 50/40/10 if 7 days or less). Your share is paid out automatically.
Do I have to buy credits to get bookings?+
No. Every verified mover gets matched with customer requests in their service area. Credits and premium plans are optional boosters that add visibility — they don't gate access.
Is there a contract?+
No. Everything is month-to-month and there's no signup fee. Cancel any plan from your Billing page.
Why do I need Stripe Connect?+
It's how we send payouts to you securely. Until you complete Stripe verification, payouts are paused — but you can still receive bookings, and funds will release as soon as you finish onboarding.
How is this different from lead generation sites?+
We're not a lead site. Customers don't talk to twenty movers — they choose you from a shortlist and pay MoverQuotes upfront. You don't pay for cold contacts; you earn from completed jobs.
